Ensure Service, Satisfaction with a Professional Credit Card Processor

It’s an ugly truth, but one that needs to be discussed. There is a reason why credit card processors (CCP) have a dubious reputation. A few unscrupulous companies make us all look bad. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to make Swypit the most honest and reliable credit card processing company in the industry.
There are some common traits you’ll find in ethical companies that you won’t find in the fly-by-night outfits. Here’s what I recommend you look for in a processor to ensure you get the level of service you expect:
Accreditation – The best place to start your search is to find a processor who is a Certified Payment Professional (CPP), recognized by the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), the premier organization for the credit card processing industry. The CPP certification is a rigorous course designed to recognize individuals who demonstrate a commitment to providing the highest level of integrity and customer service to their clients.
The CPP certification indicates that the individual possesses:
- Broad industry knowledge, including emerging technology and trends
- Mastery of sales, pricing, and interchange
- Understanding of business process, operations, and workflow
- Knowledge of products and payment solutions
- Expertise on regulations, compliance, and security issues
Certified payment professionals must also earn continuing education credits to remain CPP accredited.
Longevity – Many of the shady CCPs don’t stay in business long. That’s why it’s a good idea to find out how long the company has been around. Look for professionals who have been in business for at least 3-5 years.
Customer Satisfaction – Trustworthy CCPs can give you a list of references and testimonials from their clients to demonstrate the company’s dedication to providing a high level of customer service.
Customer Support – Ask the company’s references how well the company responds when the payment system goes down. Do they have to call a 1-800 number and sit on hold for hours? Look for a CCP that can be there to give you individualized technical expertise to get you back up and running.
When dealing with sensitive issues like payment processing, a CCP’s reputation is their livelihood. Swypit has been assisting our clients for almost two decades, and we plan on being around for many more years.
