Kevin Hodes, CEO of Credit Card Processing Company Swypit, Publishes New Article About Artificial Intelligence and Hiring

Press Releases

Frisco, TX – October 26, 2018 – Kevin Hodes, CEO of Swypit has published a new article entitled “Hiring in 2018: Should You Consider Artificial Intelligence (AI)?” In the article, Hodes talks about the integration of AI into hiring and what it means for business owners.

As Hodes begins, “We are living in the age of technology, so why wouldn’t we use artificial intelligence to do our recruiting – or at least some parts of it – for us?”

Today, AI is getting a ton of attention. Especially, in terms of how it can help to add speed, efficiency and even accuracy to routine and common tasks or certain elements in the workflow of a business. In general, artificial intelligence is able – or becoming able – to take over some of the repetitive, high-volume tasks that might normally bog our businesses down.

Recruiting, explains Hodes, might be one of the toughest and more time-intensive tasks that a business owner faces today. Since businesses are fueled by talent, “poor hiring” can cost quite a bit of time and money. In fact, as Hodes reports, “Studies have shown that it costs around $250,000 to track down and hire a new employee. Thus, it’s best to choose the right fit from the get-go.”

In the remainder of the article, Hodes considers whether AI might be the solution for these HR or hiring challenges. Such as, “By using an AI system for recruiting, it saves recruiters’ time from having to hand-filter through hundreds or even thousands of resumes. Out of those resumes, 75%-88% are usually deemed unqualified for the role applied for which they applied. Thus, AI could allow recruiters to do more with less, even integrating effortlessly without disrupting a casual workflow.”

However, he also considers the “dark side” of AI for hiring—the side that caused Amazon to stop its use of AI in recruiting. Is AI for hiring all it’s cracked up to be and is it really a better option?
