Frisco, TX – Mar 28, 2019 – Kevin Hodes, CEO of Swypit has published a new article entitled “Posture & Productivity: Can the Way We Sit (and How Long) at Work Affect What We’re Able to Accomplish?!” In the article, Hodes talks about the relationship between posture, mindset, and efficiency.
Time is at a premium for sure. Today, we are all being consistently asked to do more in less time. Business owners are no exception and in fact, are probably more subject to this axiom than anyone else.
But is it possible that one of the most effective things we can do to increase our productivity is also one tiny little change, totally under our control?
Business expert Kevin Hodes says, “Yes!” in his article. He explains, “Bad posture is not only bad for health, it reduces our productivity. The good news, however, is that the opposite is true as well—improve your posture and watch output get better fast!”
Could it be? Could it really be that simply improving our posture could improve our productivity?
Hodes goes on to explain, “While sitting up straight won’t cure depression necessarily, the opposite – slumping – could make it more severe. And one study did show that simply sitting up straight did assist with reducing the severity of depression symptoms that sometimes make it hard to be productive.”
In the remainder of the article he goes on to elaborate how posture impact the body’s efficiency and subsequently, affects productivity. When the body is in alignment correctly, all other tasks are performed easier and this reduces physical and mental stress on the body too.
Hodes also mentions how poor posture negatively influences confidence and assertiveness, often causing us to overwork. And, adds Hodes, when people feel overworked, productivity declines as well.
